PRESENTER
Sally Rhys, MS, SPHR
Career and Transition Coach
TOPIC
Real Time Application of the ICF Code of Ethics
DESCRIPTION
Direct to you from the 2011 International ICF Conference – Ethics in Real Time! Join Sally Rhys, former Chair of the ICF Global Committee on Ethics and Standards as she brings you the most highly rated session of the 2010 ICF Conference and a standout repeat in 2011.
How much do you really understand about the ICF Code of Ethics – the Code all ICF members agree to abide by?
Ethics is about values and questions much more than about rules, and this conversation will help coaches understand how they might be tested in their coaching practice and what they will learn about themselves as they make choices.
This is a discussion, not a lecture. Attendees will encounter a number of challenges in which the way forward is not always so clear. Each of the scenarios that will be presented in this session is taken from a real challenge faced by a real coach with a real client. You will have to come to grips with what you would do facing the same situation. Presented in a case study-reveal session, you will think about this presentation for a long time.
Please bring a copy of the Code of Ethics to the meeting with you. You can print a PDF copy from the following ICF website: http://coachfederation.org/about-icf/ethics/icf-code-of-ethics/
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Coach Sally Rhys coaches and consults with leaders who value upholding the highest standards and ethics in their workplace. Her help in building Ethics and Compliance programs brings clients peace of mind, demonstrates dedication to ethics, and improves the standard of behavior for employees. In today’s work place, it can be hard to determine what the right thing to do is. Sally’s coaching helps clients sort out what is important, and determine what is the right action for them. Wayward behavior is generally due to not knowing better, or a gradual slide down a slippery slope.
Sally served as Director, Ethics and Compliance for Portland General Electric for two years, capping a 20 year career there. Educationally, her back ground includes a BA and an MS in Psychology, and she completed CoachU's Core Essentials and Corporate Coaching program. Sally served two years as the Chair of the ICF Global Committee on Ethics and Standards. She also holds life time certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
Sally is a frequent public speaker and trainer, addressing audiences at national conferences as well as local professional groups.
Sally has enjoyed a varied career, and is adept at shaping varied jobs experiences into a meaningful, integrated career. Her work experience spans internal consultant, supervisory, project management, manager and coach roles.
