MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wagers 2 Important Reminder From Your President:
Hopefully you don't tire of my reminders to get involved with "your" chapter, the Northwest Coaches Association. Obviously, I think it's important, and hopefully you agree.
We will be encouraging anyone who wants to make a difference and be part of the 2008 Leadership Team to make your interest known and step forward at the October meeting so we can begin our election process for next year.
Bob Renggli is your President Elect this year and will become our President for 2008. The other elected positions to be filled are Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President/President Elect for 2009. The appointed positions are Marketing Director, Membership Co-Chairs, Program Co-Chairs and PPC Liaison/Co-Chair.
Everyone has been busy and done a wonderful job this year. Some may want to continue in their role next year at Bob's discretion so PLEASE give this your serious consideration and make your interest known. As in most things in life there are those who sit on the sideline and watch things happen and those that get involved and make things happen.
I wish everyone the best and look forward to seeing you at our meeting.
Best regards,
Dave Wagers
NWCA 2007 President
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT-ELECT
Possibilities or Resignation
Perhaps you are familiar with this very keen coaching dialectical tool. Dialectics being that logical argumentation in a debate or conversation wherein clarity (read truth) is discovered. Half of what we coaches do is "discovery;" the other half is implementation assistance with our clients. We often toggle between one extreme position or the other grasping for that "aha moment of enlightenment" when the client beholds the truth of their unique situation. It is precisely within this nexus of thought and behavior that the truth of that famous rabbinic truism is revealed: "Truth is refined on the horns of a dialectical conversation."
So in the closing few fertile months of the coaching season of 2007 at NWCA, let each of us resolve to shuttle creatively between the possibilities we dreamed of at the January 07 brainstorm session with Ray Redburn and with firm resolve resist the urges of entropy and resignation if those dreams are still a distant dream. Remembering that we die if all we have is memory of what could have been but rather stretch forth and grab onto the star of our dream again and again persistently striving for a better organization in the future.
The Leadership Team is changing; new positions and appointments are unfolding for 2008. Please "step out there," share your dream of possibilities with someone and together leverage new energy for change and growth. We often discover in that sacred nexus of creative realignment that new connections, new configurations literally give birth to a better you and a brighter coaching chapter in Portland Oregon.
Bob Renggli
President Elect 2008
PRE-MEETING WORKSHOP (5:45 p.m.)
Coach Your Clients to a Successful AND Healthy Future
Description: Energy and focus are often a challenge on the way towards goal achievement both with coaches and their clients. Suzanne Stradley will discuss health challenges and explain how many of them can be addressed naturally with diet, lifestyle and supplementation.
So the tool is awareness and clarity around a lot of health issues that can be improved by the educational information offered. The more a coach can know about the physical obstacles their clients are facing, the more they are equipped to help them to recognize what steps need be taken. This is not only applicable to the wellness coach, but to all coaches who are interested in offering a well rounded, solution oriented system for helping their clients achieve success.
Below is a list of highlights:
  • Food and nourishment support optimal performance
  • Detoxification and mental clarity
  • The interelatedness of exercise and motivation
  • A personalized approach to assisting client to recognize what THEIR body needs
Guest Speaker: Suzanne Stradley is a Certified Nutraceutical Consultant who partners with Doctors from around the United States and Canada coaching them on how to add wellness protocols to their practice. She is a national trainer for her company, educating other consultants on how she works with health professionals. She is committed to making a difference in the lives of others by sharing her knowledge on health and wellness.
MAIN PROGRAM (7:15 p.m.)
Right Brain Fitness
Description: Jean Bonifas, MA, CLL, has developed an energetic mind-body-imagination workout that strengthens the connections between your critical (left brain) and creative (right brain) capabilities. She calls it "Right Brain Fitness." Neuroscientists tell us that we function at peak capacity when our brains are fully integrated. The left hemisphere, which controls our body's right side, manages categorization - our literal, analytical content: the left brain is in the details. Our culture is predominantly left-brained. The right hemisphere, in charge of our left side, manages relationships - our intuitive, empathetic context: the right brain sees the big picture. Jean's presentation gives us a taste of a Right Brain Fitness workout with its collaborative rather than competitive group experiences and self-discovery take-aways.
Guest Speaker: Jean Bonifas, of Springboard Productions has a Masters in Speech Communication and is a Certified Laughter Leader for the World Laughter Tour, Inc. She collaborates with work groups and individuals to create presentations and workshops guaranteed to reduce stress, renew communication confidence and re-energize their teams and themselves. Bonifas has over 30 years award-winning experience in sales and customer service, higher education and as a theatre artist.
Sincerely,
Programs Team:
