MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear friends,
With the end of my presidential year drawing close, I am thrilled share what we've accomplished this year:
We have developed ties to other ICF chapters, worked hard on providing excellent programming for our meetings, added CEUs, improved our membership system (including introducing a rolling year membership), and created a Yahoo group for member communication.
It has been a great year for the chapter, and the leadership team has done an outstanding job. If you feel that you've reaped some of the benefits of all these improvements, I invite you to tell the hard-working members of the leadership team how much you appreciate their efforts on your behalf.
Let me be the first to commend Dave Wagers, Kelly Cooper-Slayton, Karl Heckman, Bob Renggli, Carolyn Newman, Kristy Schnabel, Feroshia Knight, and Colleen Bourassa for a job well done!
Kudos and appreciation also to Magy Nock, Laura Kaiser, Vicky Trabosh and all the others who contributed to this year's success.
Come join us for our November meeting to see how much we've grown, and how much we have to offer you. You'll be glad you did!
Warmly,
Ronnie
2007 LEADERSHIP TEAM NOMINATIONS & ELECTION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a follow-up to my article last month I want to remind everyone to please give serious consideration to running for one of our elected leadership offices at our November meeting. The offices are President-Elect for 2007 becoming President in 2008, Secretary and Treasurer for 2007.
This will not only give you more of a direct voice in the Chapter and our direction but the opportunity to meet more of your fellow coaches and at the same time give something back to the group. We have many exciting things on the plate for next year and I want the best possible team in place to participate.

Best regards,
Dave Wagers NWCA President Elect

NWCA MEMBERSHIP CONNECTIONS - November 2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Membership Leadership in 2007?
It has been noted often that the pivotal NWCA Registration Table is a premier opportunity to get to know one's fellow coaches. How does this help one's career?
1) Connecting with many coaches at a personal level expands one's networking resources
2) Serving on the NWCA Leadership Team, links a person to the coaching culture at a higher level of awareness
3) Serving one's fellow coaches is an honor and a privilege
4) Writing a brief Membership Connections monthly news article, opens the door to practicing one's communications skills
This past few weeks, Magy Nock, (next year's Membership co-leader) has found it necessary to temporarily step back from her NWCA coaching pursuits for personal reasons. We therefore have an urgent need for TWO MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE leaders in 2007.
Please consider this important invitation. I will definitely assist at the table, help greet guests and support in anyway necessary for training during the transition. The registration process has been streamlined and the computer check-in steps flow smoothly.
If anyone has questions about this opportunity, feel free to call me: 503-580-3612 cell # or evenings 503-363-3156 home or brenggli@comcast.net
My time as Treasurer of NWCA is drawing to a close. Who will serve the group next? If you are interested in this position, you are welcome to contact me to ask more specific questions about the job. I will assist the new treasurer in getting started to ensure a smooth, easy transition for you and the NWCA.
No special skills are required beyond 6th grade arithmetic; I will show you all you need to know.
At your service,
Karl Heckman, Treasurer
P.S. - Just between you and me - it's really a simple job with an important sounding title. And that's the beauty of it!
NWCA SECRETARY POSITION: A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the NWCA? If so, consider running for the Secretary position.

Serving as the NWCA Secretary has been an awesome experience for me. The job is quite easy, taking notes at the leader meetings and working with the VP to deliver this monthly newsletter. And you get to work with a bunch of great coaches. What could be better?

So if you are curious, consider running. I'll be happy to show you the ropes.

Take care,
Kelly Cooper-Slayton, Secretary
